Meet Baby Waverly
I’m so thrilled to tell y’all that my first shoot of 2025 was with my new friend, Waverly. She made her debut Earthside shortly before the new year, and her sweet family invited me into their home to meet her.

I’ve had the sweet privilege of watching this family in photographs throughout the years, and now to watch Rhett and Paisley become big siblings is something I treasure.
If your family welcomed a new little one and you’d like to book a photoshoot in your home, I’d love to help! I am careful to maintain a small footprint through your home. Shooting in a room with a window is a huge plus, but I will bring small lights to help supplement that light. It would be an honor to photograph your growing family.

Couple Travels Two Hours for Photos
Hello all! I have to introduce you to my sweet friends, Naomi and Kane. These two lovebirds drove two hours to get their photos taken on the beach. I couldn’t have been more flattered when they said they’d come all that way just to spend 30 minutes with me.
I love their love so much. The best couples to photograph are the ones who forget how awkward it is that someone is taking their photo and just play. They laughed together their entire session, and their love shines through in their photos.
Thank you so much, Naomi and Kane, for traveling such a distance to come see me. And if you are in the Short Pump area, you MUST go see Naomi to get your nails done—she is phenomenal. Check her out on IG!
The Pauline Family
Damien and Candi brought their four pups out to Pleasure House Point for a golden hour shoot that I am still in awe of. We not only caught the sun at such a beautiful time, but we got all four dogs to cooperate for a family photo.
How is this done? Well, it involves me making a lot of strange, high-pitched noises to get all four dogs to look my way. We also broke up the photo shoot into a few parts to help with the dogs’ patience. We did some family photos with all four dogs, and then some with two and two at a time. Then for the last 30 minutes of their hour session, I focused only on Damien and Candi while that sun hit just right.
If you are interested in bringing your pups along to your couples or family session, please do! We will work together to find a location where the dogs will be most comfortable. I ask that the dogs are well behaved in public, and bring along some treats to reward good behavior!
The Birds’ Sunset Boat Cruise
Tony and Maria Bird decided to make a date night out of their couples session this August. They started with cocktails and sushi at The Porch on Long Bay Pointe and then met me at the marina to hop aboard for a cruise. We took the boat through Broad Bay to the Narrows at golden hour. And I am OBSESSED.
Danielle & Andrew’s Wedding
The perfect June wedding in Virginia Beach
Way back in December of 2021, I met Danielle completely at random at Blue Pete’s in Virginia Beach. We hit it off, and she mentioned she needed some engagement photos. I said GIRL. Let’s do it. Danielle and Andrew’s engagement session started at the Cavalier with the two of them shotgunning Coors Light. We became friends instantly.
A few weeks later after delivering their engagement portraits, Danielle inquired if I would photograph their wedding. I felt so overwhelmed with joy; it’s such a privilege to be a part of such a special day for a couple and their families. And what can I say. I’m a sucker for weddings.
Danielle & Andrew with their niece, just seconds after they got MARRIED!
Danielle and Andrew tied the knot on June 4th at an intimate, backyard ceremony that reminded me of an Alice in Wonderland tea party by the water. These two are so gorgeous and classic together; I’m in awe of their genuine connection and passion for each other. The day was filled with so much love and laughter.
This couple had the sweetest details for their perfect June wedding. Danielle did her own flowers and tables and wanted most of her getting ready photos to be of the set up. The whole family pitched in to get the flowers and table settings absolutely perfect.
My favorite part of the wedding day was when the sun set over the water behind the venue, and I danced along with the family, snapping photos all the while. I’m so honored to be the photographer that Danielle and Andrew chose to capture their perfect, magical wedding day. Huge congratulations to the Langloises!!!
Mother’s Day Minis!
30 minute sessions to create the perfect gift for Mom.
On May 1st, I hosted my first ever minis session for Mother’s Day! I thought it would make the perfect Mother’s Day gift for anyone in need of some new portraits. These minis were held at Pleasure House Point in Virginia Beach, which is a favorite of mine. The golden hour light and biodiversity can’t be beat. Five beautiful families came and hung out with me on the beach to celebrate! All of the families received their galleries ahead of Mother’s Day so that any prints could be ordered and the photos could be shared with family before Sunday. Each one of these families was amazing to work with. I’m looking forward to hosting more mini sessions in the future!
Your Ideal Portrait Location
Let’s pick a backdrop that tells your story.
So you want some portraits taken in Virginia Beach, but you’re not sure where you want to go. I’m here to help you pick out a location that will match your aesthetic and help tell your story! Being born and raised in Virginia Beach, I’ve been lucky enough to explore some of our breathtaking scenery through my lens over the years. VB offers so many different backdrops—beach, forest, urban, rural, you name it. Here are some examples of my favorite places to take portraits. If you’re interested in working with me, we’ll work together to pick the perfect place for you. Let’s explore!
Pleasure House Point
Cam & Tyler Engagement Session - April 2021
Pleasure House Point, located in Chicks Beach on the Lynnhaven River, has a little bit of everything. We can cover a lot of ground in one area, making it look like we visited several locations in one session. This location has beautiful golden hour light and is a great place to see the sunset. It has a diverse mix of beach backdrops as well as lots of trees to make for a forest vibe with lots of earth tones. One of my favorite things about this location is the seagrass that plays well as a neutral addition of color in the fall and spring, or a bright touch of green in the summer.
To get to this location, you’ll park at the Brock Environmental Center. It’s a bit of a walk through sand from the parking lot to the natural area, so if you choose this location, be prepared to get some steps in. It’s also important to note that this is a natural area that local nonprofits work very hard to keep intact. This area is home to many diverse species of wildlife, and we want to keep our footprint small.
Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge
Katelyn & Matt Family Session - December 2021
Back Bay has been one of my favorite places to go ever since I was a little kid and my dad taught me how to fish here. It’s likely the most magnificent place to see the sun set over the water in VB. The water of the marsh provides a fantastic beachy backdrop, but I also love how the tall reeds and walking trails provide a beautiful sense of dimension. In the fall and winter, the grasses and reeds are nice neutral touches, along with the wooden texture of the walking trails. In the spring and summer, Back Bay is alive with vibrant shades of green.
To get to Back Bay, it’s a bit of a drive past Sandbridge Beach, almost to the NC border. It’s very easy to walk around, but it’s imperative to keep in mind that this is a wildlife refuge and as such, we don’t want to mess with any habitats.
Zoe’s Senior Portrait Session - June 2022
Red Wing Park offers a calm forest background, and fun fact—that’s where I took my senior prom pictures! Red Wing Park has a beautiful Japanese garden filled with rich greenery, hydrangeas, and this cute red bridge. Parking is super easy at this location with several on-site, free parking lots. This park is located off of General Booth just a few miles from the Oceanfront. This location doesn’t get too crowded, so if you’re a bit nervous about your session, you will have a bit more privacy. However, you might not come away with as wide a range of backdrops like the locations mentioned above.
Of course there are so many other spots in VB to choose from. Pungo has a picturesque rural feel, and there are several urban spots at Town Center or the Oceanfront. Feel free to shoot me an email and we’ll work together to pick a spot that best fits your personality and story.
